Information We Collect
SpendWise is designed to operate as a single-user, on-device application. All financial records are entered manually by you — the app does not connect to or sync with any bank, credit card, payment processor, or external financial service.

All financial data you input is stored locally on your device and includes:

How We Use Your Information
We use the data we collect for the following purposes:
- App functionality — to display your income/expense records, summaries, and reports within the app.
- Bug fixing & improvements — anonymous crash data helps us resolve technical issues.
- Feature development — aggregated, anonymized usage patterns guide our product roadmap.
We do not use your financial data for advertising, profiling, or any commercial purpose.
Section 03
Data Storage & Retention
Your financial records are stored locally on your device using secure on-device storage. SpendWise does not upload your transaction data to any server, cloud service, bank, or financial institution. All entries are made manually and remain solely on your device.
- Local data persists until you delete the app or manually clear app data.
- Crash/analytics data (anonymized) is retained for up to 90 days on our analytics provider's servers, then deleted.
- If you uninstall SpendWise, all locally stored data is permanently removed from your device.

Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data:
- Financial data is stored in the app's sandboxed local storage, inaccessible to other apps on your device.
- SpendWise never requests, stores, or transmits any bank account numbers, credit/debit card numbers, PINs, or financial credentials of any kind.
- You may enable your device's screen lock, fingerprint, or face recognition to further protect access to SpendWise.
- All network communication (for analytics/crash reporting) uses TLS/HTTPS encryption.
No method of data storage or transmission is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Rights & Choices
Data Access & Deletion
Since your financial data lives entirely on your device, you have full control:
- Access — all your data is visible inside the app at any time.
- Delete — use the in-app "Clear All Data" option, or uninstall the app to permanently remove all data.
- Export — use the in-app export feature to save your records as a CSV file.
Analytics Opt-Out
You can disable anonymous usage analytics at any time from Settings → Privacy → Analytics within the app.
GDPR / CCPA
If you are located in the European Union or California, you have additional rights including the right to access, rectify, or erase personal data we hold about you. Because we collect minimal personal data (no identity information), most requests can be fulfilled by clearing app data directly on your device. Children's Privacy
SpendWise is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has used SpendWise and provided personal data, please contact us and we will take prompt steps to delete such information.

Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, with an in-app notification.
Your continued use of SpendWise after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
