- Student and teacher records are created and managed by your institute's Admins, not registered directly by children.
- Sabaq, Sabqi, Manzil, attendance, and Jaiza records sync securely to our own cloud-based servers.
- We never sell personal data and Al-Noor Hifz carries no advertising.
- Fee records track amounts and status for bookkeeping. The app doesn't collect or store card numbers.
The Details
Read the sections below for a complete explanation of what we collect and why, or jump to a topic using the bar above.
Overview
Al-Noor Hifz helps Quran institutes, teachers, and students track memorization progress and manage academic records. That covers daily Hifz tracking, attendance, exams (Jaiza), fee records, and progress reports, all through dedicated Admin, Teacher, and Student portals.
This policy walks through what information the app collects, why we collect it, how it's stored, and the choices available to the institutes, staff, students, and guardians who use Al-Noor Hifz. It applies to the Al-Noor Hifz mobile app and any related services we offer.
Who This Policy Applies To
Al-Noor Hifz is used by three types of people, each through their own portal. Institute Admins set up the institute's account, organize classes and groups, and manage teacher and student profiles, fees, and reports across the whole institute. Teachers record daily Sabaq, Sabqi, and Manzil progress, along with attendance and Jaiza results, for the students assigned to them. Students see their own progress, attendance, and exam history as set up by their institute.
In most cases the Quran institute or madrasah is the primary account holder, and it's responsible for the accuracy of the information it enters about its own teachers and students.
Information We Collect
Here's what we collect. Most of it is entered into the app by institute staff; a smaller part is generated automatically as the app runs.
Institute & Admin Info
Institute name and contact details, plus admin name, email, phone, and login credentials.
Teacher Profiles
Name, contact details, and the classes or subjects assigned by the institute.
Student Records
Name, guardian contact info, class/group, enrollment date, and any optional fields the institute chooses to record.
Hifz & Academic Progress
Daily Sabaq, Sabqi, and Manzil entries, Jaiza/exam results, and teacher notes.
Attendance Records
Daily attendance entries logged per class and session.
Fee & Payment Records
Fee amounts, due dates, and payment status entered by staff. No card or bank numbers are collected.
Device & Usage Data
Device type, OS, app version, and diagnostic logs collected automatically, plus a device token used to deliver push notifications.
Generated Reports
PDF/Excel exports built from the records above, stored on the requesting device or account.
How We Use Your Information
We use this information to run the core Hifz-tracking, attendance, Jaiza, and fee-management features across the Admin, Teacher, and Student portals, and to show each person the records that are actually relevant to their role. It's also how we generate progress reports and exports, keep the app secure and working properly (which includes diagnosing crashes and other technical issues), and reach out to institute Admins about their account, service updates, or support requests. Where an institute has its own legal or record-keeping obligations, this data helps it meet them too.
We don't use student academic, attendance, or Jaiza data for advertising, and we don't sell personal data to third parties.
Student & Child Data
Many students who appear in Al-Noor Hifz are minors. This section explains how their information is handled.
Student profiles are created and managed by the institute's Admins and Teachers as part of the institute's own academic record-keeping. Students don't register themselves. Institutes are responsible for getting any consent required from parents or guardians under applicable law before entering a student's information, and for deciding which optional fields make sense to record. If you're a parent or guardian with questions about your child's records, the best place to start is your institute directly. You're also welcome to reach us at contact@mohaddis.com and we'll point your request to the right institute administrator.
Data Storage & Security
Data entered into Al-Noor Hifz, including institute, teacher, and student records, Hifz and attendance history, Jaiza results, and fee records, is stored on our own cloud-based servers and database. We operate and control this infrastructure ourselves rather than handing it off to a third-party data platform.
We apply reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect this information, including encrypted transmission and access controls scoped to each institute's Admin, Teacher, and Student roles. That said, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
The one outside service we rely on is Firebase Cloud Messaging, operated by Google, and we use it only to deliver push notifications to your device. It doesn't store or have access to your institute's academic, attendance, or fee records. Beyond that, we don't currently use any third-party advertising or analytics services.
Data Sharing
Within your institute, Admins and Teachers only see the records that match their role. A Teacher sees the progress of the students assigned to them, while an Admin sees records across the whole institute.
Your institute's records live on servers we operate and control ourselves. The one outside service involved is Firebase Cloud Messaging, which Google provides purely to deliver push notifications to your device using a device token; it has no access to your institute's academic, attendance, or fee records.
We may also disclose information where required by law or legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Al-Noor Hifz, our users, or others. And if Al-Noor Hifz or Mohaddis is ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, data may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
What we don't do: sell personal data, or share student data with advertisers.
Data Retention & Deletion
We keep institute, teacher, and student records for as long as the institute's account stays active, so Hifz progress, attendance, and exam history stay available for reporting. An institute Admin can ask us to delete or export the institute's data, or a specific student's or teacher's record, at any time, just by writing to contact@mohaddis.com. We'll delete or anonymize what's requested within a reasonable time, unless we need to hold onto it for legal, accounting, or dispute-resolution reasons.
Your Rights & Choices
Depending on your role and location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or request deletion of information held about you in Al-Noor Hifz. Admins can manage most institute, teacher, and student records directly within the Admin portal. Teachers can update their own profile details, and should get in touch with their institute Admin for anything else. Students and guardians can review what's shown in the Student portal, and should reach out to their institute Admin, or to us, to request corrections or deletion.
Either way, we'll work with the relevant institute to honor valid requests.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the app, our practices, or legal requirements change. We'll update the effective date above whenever we do, and for anything material, we'll take reasonable steps to let institute Admins know within the app or by email.
